On December 29th, 2014, Sichuan Environment and Engineering Appraisal Center (SEEAC) and the Strategic Environmental Assessment Research Center (SEARC) of Nankai University signed an Agreement in Chengdu on Strategic Cooperation and Joint Training Base for Graduate Students. Signing of this cooperation agreement is a result of further exchange based on both parties’ previous collaboration. SEEAC and SEARC worked together during 2013 and 2014 on the research project of “Low-carbon Development Model and Industrial Low-carbon Path in the Tianfu New Area”. Based on the low-carbon transition experience in Chengdu Tianfu New Area, the project summarized the low-carbon development model for industrial parks, and pointed out the optimal path for low-carbon industries, providing references for industrial low carbon transition in other regions. The strategic cooperation between SEEAC and SEARC aims to strengthen collaboration between universities and industries, to promote mutual development and to explore new cooperation mode between higher education and industries, as well as to achieve full integration of personnel training, human resources development, technical services, and research outcome application. The cooperation areas will include research projects, two-way education and training, academic exchange and collaboration, website construction, etc. In collaboration with SEARC, SEEAC will establish a joint training base for graduate students, which serves as a broad platform for cultivating high-end talents in the environmental protection field. The signing of this agreement symbolizes a new step forward for cooperation between SEEAC and SEARC, laying solid foundation for future collaborative development.
